Book Giveaway!

Free Books

[This giveaway has ended — thanks to all who entered, and please stay tuned for more great giveaways in the future!]

After posting my Summer Reading List last week, I thought it might be fun to get some of you involved.  So, today I’m presenting:  The Very First Eating Rules Giveaway!

Two lucky winners will each receive a book of his or her choice from my reading list. (Although it’s not necessary, after you read the book, if you’d like to write a guest review, that sure would be awesome!)

Here’s how to enter…

Step 1:  Follow Eating Rules.

If you’re not already a subscriber, sign up in one of the following ways. (Don’t worry, it’s free, and you can cancel or unsubscribe any time after the contest ends.  I won’t spam you, either.)

  1. Subscribe via E-mail.
  2. Follow @eatingrules on Twitter.
  3. Become a Facebook Fan.
  4. Subscribe in your RSS Reader.

Step 2:  Tell a friend.

Spread the word in at least one of the following ways — and include a link to this post.

Use this shortlink, if you prefer:

  • Email friend(s) and tell them about this contest. Please CC me (andrew – at – eatingrules – dot – com) so I know you did this.
  • Tweet about this contest. Include @eatingrules in your tweet.
  • Post about this contest on Facebook. Tell us you did this in the comments below.
  • Write about Eating Rules on your Blog, School Newspaper, on the Huffington Post, in the New York Times, etc., and share the link in the comments below.

Step 3:  Post in the comments.

Leave a comment on this post, telling everyone which book you’d like to read, and, if you feel so compelled, why.

Be sure to enter your email address in the form (not in the comment itself), so I can contact you if you win.  If you’re yet not sure which book you’d like, that’s okay – but you still need to leave a comment.

The Fine Print:

  • Two winners will be chosen at random from the eligible entries received.  Each winner will receive a new paperback copy of his or her choice from this list.
  • No purchase necessary, but you must complete all three steps listed above to be eligible.
  • You must be 18 to enter.
  • One entry per person.
  • Although you do not need to reside in the U.S. to win, I will only ship to a U.S. address.
  • Offer void where prohibited, your mileage may vary, etc. etc.
  • Contest ends at 11:59pm PST on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Winners will be notified by email shortly thereafter, and must respond within 3 days.  If no response is received, I’ll choose another winner at random.

Thanks for entering, and good luck!

I Stumbled ( the link and a few others does that count?

I’d like to read several of these especially Slouching Towards Bethlehem, The Omnivore’s Dilemma, and How We Decide.

If I win can you skip Walmart Amazon, save a tree and support a bookseller by buying a very good or better condition used copy? You can donate the difference to your favorite cause.

No question, I’d choose HOW WE DECIDE by Jonah Lehrer. I read his blog, “The Frontal Cortex” almost every day, and I’m amazed at his output. I’m also envious. As an added bonus, he’s really cute.

OK, I posted on Facebook. I’d choose How We Decide. I’ll have to read the book in order to tell you why I picked it.

I really want to read omnivores dilemma. i’ve been too lazy to order it from amazon though !

How We Decide looks like a good read, if I’m allowed to judget a book by its cover, of course.
