SodaStream Giveaway!

SodaStream Fountain Jet

UPDATE: This giveaway has ended. Thank you to everyone who entered! Even if you didn’t win this one, you’ll still be a winner if you go buy your own SodaStream from Amazon.

Of all the kitchen products I’ve mentioned on Eating Rules, few have garnered as much interest and excitement as the SodaStream Home Carbonator. With good reason, too: It’s awesome!

We bought one about a year ago, and have been using it consistently ever since (and I certainly can’t say that about many other gadgets in my kitchen).  I wrote a positive review after the first month, and since then only a couple things have changed for me.

First, since October: Unprocessed, I haven’t had a Coke Zero, Diet Coke, or any other mainstream soda. Not one!

Second, we stopped using the SodaMix flavors once we realized they all had artificial sweeteners. I haven’t yet tried the unsweetened “MyFlavor Essences” unsweetened flavorings — but the SodaStream folks have a few samples en route to me, and I’m looking forward to giving them a whirl.

Third, I’ve found that I don’t need as much “flavor” in my beverages as I used to in order to be satisfied with my beverage.  A dash of bitters (I like Fee Brothers — it’s very cinnamony!) or maybe some lemon and lime wedges, and I’m a happy camper. (Here are a few more ideas.)

What’s that, you say? You want a SodaStream too? Hey, well guess what? You’re in luck!

SodaStream has generously offered to give one lucky Eating Rules reader a SodaStream Fountain Jet Seltzer Starter Kit!

The kit will include one Fountain Jet Carbonator (in your choice of color: Black/Silver, White, or Red Silver), a CO2 tank that makes over 100 liters of seltzer (refills are just $15), and one reusable carbonating bottle.  They’ll also include samples of the unsweetened MyWater Flavor Essences, so you can get started right away with your healthier homemade soda.  The total retail value is over $100!

Thank you to Jill Dreisilker from SS|PR, SodaStream, and everyone who enters!

Full disclosure: Other than the free MyWater Samples they’re sending me, I am receiving no compensation for this giveaway.  It’s just something I wanted to do because I knew you would appreciate it.

Neat! I want one!! I buy tons of sparkling mineral water and I always feel guilty about the bottles, although I try to reuse them as much as possible…

…because I LOVE soda water and I don’t have a car so lugging them home from the grocery store would be happily banished from my life. I’m also getting married soon and my fiance laughed at me when I tried to put this on our registry! I need this one!!

I would love one of these. I would be able to make my own sodas, and not be tempted to buy diet sodas because they are easier and cheaper than the healthier versions.

I would love a soda stream! I am planning on buying one with the gift cards we received at our wedding shower, but winning one would be even better!

I bought one for my BFF’s family for Xmas a few years ago. Such a great alternative to bought sodas. If I won it, I would use the juice from lemon and grapefruit trees for flavoring!

Wow! I would love to win this! We don’t drink pop and sparkling mineral waters are great – but the bottles seem like such a waste. Plus my kids might feel less ripped off about the pop deal if we were making some cool stuff at home (ala Izze).
Thanks for such a cool giveaway 🙂

Whatever could be better than winning the lottery?! I play around with fermentation A LOT, and this seems just a step away. I would love to play with it and see what I come up with! Fun, fun, fun!

I am dying for one of these! Our children bring their own drinks to school and to soccer practice, etc. Currently they bring Gatorade in their SIGGs- but I would much prefer to provide a less processed flavored option. I’d love to experiment with this for after my runs; plus it would come in really handy for club soda mixers later in the evening. ; )

Wow! I really like Coke Zero but am trying to cut out all artificial sweeteners. The Fee Brother’s bitters sounds delicious. I love cinnamon!

I managed to go soda-free for the first three months of 2011, but I craved the bubbles and I’m back to drinking (nasty nasty) diet soda. I would love to try a healthier alternative!

And I shared a link to this on FB.

I’ve been addicted to diet coke for …omg about 25 years. I want to stop leeching calcium from my bones and this might be my ticket to freedom!

Karis' Kitchen

I would love to win a SodaStream because my husband drinks an insane amount of soda, and this could replace the 4 cases of soda he currently buys each week.

I would love this as a healthier alternative to soda. Not that I drink or buy soda – my 12 y/o always seems to find the crap!
