Basic Sour Cream Sauce

This super simple recipe will be a delight to have as a summer staple.

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup water as needed
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt or to taste


  1. Place the cashews into a bowl and cover with water. Let soak for a few hours.
  2. Drain and rinse the cashews. In a blender add the cashews, lemon juice, water, vinegar, and blend until smooth. Add more water if needed. Taste and adjust with salt.
