Apple Chia Jam

Apple Chia Jam is thick, rich and delicious with a hint of maple. It’s a perfect topper for your toast or as part of a cheese platter at your next gathering.

  • 2 cups diced sweet apples
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds


  1. Combine the apples, 1 cup of water, lemon juice and maple syrup in a medium pot.
  2. Simmer on medium low heat for an hour adding the last half cup of water (1/4 cup at a time) if needed. Using the back of a spoon, mash the apples to get the desired consistency you want.  
  3. Once cooked with about a ¼ cup of liquid remaining, remove the mixture from the heat and add the chia seeds.  
  4. Allow to cool completely and refrigerate.
