In today’s October Unprocessed FAQ, I’m going to try to clear up some confusion surrounding one of our most common ingredients: Flours and grains.

This Farro with Spinach, Basil, Lemon, and Pine nuts can be made as a vegan or vegetarian main dish or as a side dish. It comprises all the best Italian flavors in a bowl, and it’s even “kid-approved!”
With all the Orwellian “Doublespeak” surrounding our foods, we pretty much have to assume that packaged foods are “guilty until proven innocent” when it comes to labels and claims.
I’m a fan of the Girl Scouts, and have tremendous respect for their organization. But I won’t buy their cookies.
