Tomorrow’s the first big day of October Unprocessed! Here’s everything you need to know.
Above all else: Take the Pledge
I know there are a few folks out there still on the fence. There’s a lot to be said for actually filling out the form and signing your name. I know it’s just a form on some guy’s blog — but there’s still something powerful about making that public declaration, and seeing your name alongside thousands of others who are doing this with you.
Remember, I encourage you to define “unprocessed” however you see fit, to select any “deliberate exceptions” you may need, and to participate in a way that feels right to you. You’ve got a lot to gain, and I can’t think of a single thing you might lose.
Invite your Friends
Yay! Congrats on making it official! Now, if you haven’t shared it with your friends, family, and co-workers , now’s the time! When the people around you participate, it’s a lot more fun — and you’ll be more successful, too.
Use these buttons and you won’t even have to leave this page:
The Guest Posts
Starting tomorrow, I’m going to be sharing a guest post every day from my fellow writers. This year we’re focusing mostly on “how to” post, as we’re getting a bit more creative in the kitchen. I’m super-excited for the lineup this – it’s going to be great!
If we can manage to pull this off gracefully, the posts will go up around 6am Eastern each morning, so even the early morning East Coast folks can check things out before breakfast. I’ll also set the email notifications to go out in the morning, so if you’ll get a summary and link to the post each morning.
Please support and encourage our guest authors! They’re an incredible group of people (and none of them are being paid to write these posts). So if you like what they have to say, bookmark their websites, buy their books, Like their Facebook pages, and follow them on Instagram or Twitter. I’ll provide links to all of that stuff at the top of each post. Cool? Cool.
Get the Meal Plan Guide
We’ve packed this digital download with more than 50 simple, unintimidating recipes that all pass the kitchen test. That’s an entire month of knowing exactly what you’re going to eat, setting you up to make almost no in-the-moment decisions about food.
We’ve put a ton of work into curating and organizing these recipes, designing a beautiful e-book, and creating the printable shopping lists (which will save you a lot of time and effort).
Last year after October, we locked the price at $27.00. But because we want to help everyone succeed during the challenge, we’re putting the meal plans on sale for just $17.00. And, if you order before October 1st, get an additional $5.00 off with coupon code “unprocessed”.
And, for every purchase, we’ll donate 10% to the Food Literacy Center, an incredible organization that teaches low-income kids how to cook and eat real food.
Get some Stickers
October Unprocessed Stickers are available here! They’re high-quality, indoor/outdoor vinyl stickers, about 6″ wide by 3″ tall. Just $2.50 each, with free shipping in the US (and just $1 shipping anywhere else in the world). We’ve already sent these as far as Australia!
And once you get your sticker, please slap it on something fun (your car, your reusable water bottle, your laptop, your husband’s bald spot…) and then just for fun, take a picture and post it in our Facebook Group for all to see.
Get the Free Official Guide
Be sure to download The Official Guide to October Unprocessed. It’s a free PDF, with info about the challenge, tips & tricks to get started, answers to frequently asked questions, and tons of other resources. Seriously helpful stuff in here.
Before this whirlwind month kicks off tomorrow, I’d like to take a moment to offer up some gratitude. This project wouldn’t be anything without the incredible support of all of you. It’s your enthusiasm and sharing about the challenge — on Facebook, on Twitter, on Pinterest, on your blogs — that has gotten thousands people participating.
I also have a dream team working hard behind the scenes to help make this all happen. Kristi, Steph, and Jeff: Thank you!
And most importantly: The contributors who are writing guest posts are my personal heroes. They’re donating their time and expertise to contribute in a way that uplifts us all. So thank you all for taking this journey and embracing this challenge. We’re changing the world, one bite at a time.
